International Wellbeing Insights (the research and consultancy arm of The Stress Management
Society) exists to create a happier, healthier and more resilient world through our passionate
approach to reducing stress, improving mental health and promoting wellbeing.
It all started in 2003 with our founder, Neil Shah, experiencing a challenging personal journey. While today he is a happy, healthy, calm and balanced individual, this wasn’t always the case. When, in his mid-twenties, his multi-million pound IT Recruitment business failed, Neil experienced a breakdown and attempted to end his own life. Overwhelmed, exhausted and isolated, he was desperate to find himself again. The problem was that he didn’t know where to turn and struggled to find the specific support he desperately needed.
Neil’s own personal journey to pull together tried and tested, practical, accessible resources for individuals like himself, lead to the birth of The Stress Management Society. The mission was simple; to create a happier, healthier, more resilient world. For over 16 years we have been redefining the way we live and work by empowering organisations and individuals to take charge of their wellbeing using our data driven, research based, practical approach.
International Wellbeing Insights (previously known as Praesto Training and Development), the rebranded research and consultancy arm of The Stress Management Society was re-launched in 2019 to reflect the full scope of our services. Today we are a global consultancy, working with organisations across continents to create a culture of wellbeing. We are trusted partners and advisors to some of the biggest organisations on the planet. We may have a new name with a shiny new brand, it's important to note underneath that there is history, experience, almost two decades of expertise (backed by data and research) and a very well established pedigree.
We have big aspirations. The biggest of which is to create a world that no longer needs us. We are actively working to make ourselves redundant. There is still much to do, however until Wellbeing sits at the heart of how we operate our societies, and is quite simply 'the way we do things' we will continue to work tirelessly to make sure we are keeping it top of the agenda. Using our research and data we will continue to shape business and political policy as well as continue to campaign for more effective and sustainable approaches. As we continue to grow in size and scope we also grow in confidence to assert our ideas at the highest level, in order to leverage maximum benefit!
Big ideas, strong values, ethics and principles have been at the heart of our organisation since its inception. Our values and culture define and separate us from others in the space. Everyone associated with our brand are proud ambassadors of it!
