Mental Health Champions – Public Programme

Mental Health Champions – Public Programme

Mental Wellbeing Ambassadors take the lead in developing a supportive culture for wellbeing and mental wellness. Workplace mental health ambassadors are employees who challenge stigma and encourage positive mental health in the organisation and for its workforce. They work alongside your human resources (HR) team to help create a positive mental health culture at their workplace. By understanding mental health and wellbeing, businesses will develop stronger relationships with their employees, improving staff retention levels, morale, and productivity.

Programme Overview

Our Mental Wellbeing Ambassadors programme is designed to equip employees to work across the organisation to build support for health and wellbeing initiatives. Inspire and motivate staff to prioritise their own health and wellbeing. As well as to promote good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Participants will look into a typical work-related scenario and be equipped on how to support their colleagues at their workplace and remotely. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to identify and support team members who may be experiencing mental ill-health, such as depression, anxiety and stress. Participants will be able to provide effective, early intervention and signpost the sources of support their colleagues can benefit from. This programme provides the right foundations to help create a more engaged, happy, and high-performing culture. The programme lasts for four days, 2.5 h each day.

This workshop aims to:

  • Create an awareness and understanding of mental health, with a focus on common mental health problems (depression, anxiety and stress)
  • Clarify the risk factors for mental ill-health and how to promote mental resilience.
  • Explore mental health as a right and not a luxury – it is okay not to be okay
  • Equip participants to our I.D.E.A.L.S. framework for how best to approach and support others
  • Give specific tools and techniques on how to respond safely and where to signpost someone to access the right support as per your duty of care.
  • Explore what you can and cannot do, looking at boundaries and equipping you with hands-on tools on how to deal with challenging situations and achieve safe and positive outcomes
